Pre-Op Instructions

All surgeries need an appointment.  Please call 602-795-PAWS to schedule your pet for surgery.

If your pet is 4 months of age or older; do not feed your pet after 10:00 p.m. the night before surgery. Water is ok but no food.

If your pet is 4 months of age or younger; please give your pet a small handful of food the morning of the surgery. Water is fine.

Keep your pet indoors the night before surgery. Do not allow your pet to roam free and potentially get into garbage or other food sources.

Please allow your pet time to go to the bathroom before coming to the clinic.

Drop off your pet at the clinic in the morning at the assigned time typically either at 8:00 am, 8:30 am, or 9:00 am. Late arrivals cannot have surgery and will need to be rescheduled.

During the warmer months do NOT leave your pet in the car.

We accept cash, MasterCard, Visa or debit cards. No checks please. You will pay for services when you pick up your animal.

Each cat must be in a hard-sided, cat carrier; one cat per carrier. Dogs must be on a leash or in a carrier.

Your pet will be ready to go home the same day mid-afternoon. You must pick up your pet no later than 4:00 pm. We do not board animals. Any animals left overnight will incur an additional $40.00 penalty per night.

Animals must be in good health. If your pet is showing any signs of illness such as coughing, sneezing, runny eyes or diarrhea, they will be declined for surgery. See your regular vet for care first, and then re-schedule surgery when your pet is well.

If you have vaccination records, please bring them with you. An up-to-date rabies vaccine is required by Arizona law for all dogs.

Animals over 5 years of age, or at the discretion of the veterinarian, will need to have blood work to be cleared for surgery.
